Devotion: Day 3

Day 3: Opening Hands, Not Just Emptying Stomachs

Reading: Matthew 25:35-40; James 1:27

Devotional: "If your fast makes you thinner, but your neighbor stays hungry, you missed the point." Powerful words that challenge our comfortable Christianity. Fasting isn't only about what you don't eat, but who you feed. Jesus made this clear: when we serve the hungry, thirsty, stranger, naked, sick, and imprisoned, we serve Him.

Pure religion cares for the vulnerable. It crosses comfort zones. It opens not just our doors but makes room in our lives. Consider practical ways to share: food pantries, meal invitations, grocery gift cards, opening your home. True fasting isn't emptying your stomach—it's opening your hands. Let your spiritual devotion lead to radical generosity.

Reflection: Who around me is hungry—physically, emotionally, or spiritually? How can I feed them this week?
