Devotion: Day 3
Day 3: Beyond the Headlines
Reading: Luke 24:13-35
Devotional: The disciples on the Emmaus road were stuck discussing events—what happened, who did what, how things turned out. They were so focused on the circumstances that they missed the Christ walking beside them. Many believers today live in this same space, endlessly processing news cycles, political drama, and social media reactions. These conversations aren't sinful, but they can become spiritually shallow, producing anxiety rather than faith. The disciples needed Jesus to elevate their perspective, showing them how every event fit into God's redemptive plan. You need the same shift. When discussing current events, ask deeper questions: "Where is God in this?" "What is He teaching us?" "How should faith respond?" Don't just react to what's happening—discern what God is doing. Move from information to transformation.
Reflection Question: Am I consuming more news than I am Scripture? How is that affecting my peace?
