Devotion: Day 4

Day 4: Grace Provides the Exit Door

Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13; Luke 15:17-24

Devotional: "God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape." Every burning car of sin has an emergency exit installed by God. Grace operates before repentance—the door appears before the explosion. That friend who confronted you in love? That's grace. That moment of self-awareness at 2 a.m. asking, "Why am I doing this?" That's grace. The prodigal son "came to himself" surrounded by pigs and regret, but he remembered the Father. That was the moment he opened the car door. Metanoia means a change of mind—stop believing the car will save you and start moving toward the Father who actually can. God isn't waiting to punish you for getting out; He's waiting to celebrate that you finally did.
