Devotion: Day 2
Day 2: Connected to the Vine
Reading: John 15:1-8
Devotional: A lamp can be beautifully designed and expensive, but if it's unplugged, it remains useless in the dark. Jesus uses the imagery of the vine and branches to teach us about connection. We don't just need God occasionally—we need Him constantly, like a phone that requires daily charging, not weekly. The power of God doesn't just visit during church services; it lives in believers who remain connected to the Vine. When you abide in Christ, His life source flows through you continuously, producing fruit you could never manufacture on your own. Disconnection often comes from self-reliance, from saying "I got this" instead of "God's got me." Today, examine your connection. Are you truly abiding, or just occasionally visiting? Remember: God's power isn't accessed through control but through connection.
Reflection Question: How consistently are you staying connected to God through prayer, worship, and His Word?
