Devotion: Day Five
Day 5: The Blessing of Obedience
Reading: Malachi 3:6-12 Devotional: This passage, referenced in the sermon, contains both a rebuke for "robbing God" and a promise of blessing for faithful tithing. While we're no longer under the Old Testament law, the principle of honoring God with our firstfruits remains. The sermon emphasized that tithing is about putting God first and trusting Him. As you read, reflect on God's invitation to "test me in this." Have you experienced the blessings - spiritual or material - that come from obedient giving? If you've struggled in this area, consider what's holding you back from fully trusting God with your finances. Today, commit to taking a step of faith in your giving, trusting that God is faithful to His promises.
