Day 4: The Risen Christ Calls You by Name

Reading: John 20:11-16; Revelation 21:4

Devotional: Mary Magdalene stood outside the empty tomb weeping. She did not recognize Jesus when He first appeared. Then He said one word: her name. That single word changed everything. The risen Lord, having conquered death, still took the time to address one grieving woman personally. He did not move past her sorrow in a hurry to announce His victory. He stopped. He spoke her name. He saw her. This is the same Christ who sees you today. Your grief is not invisible to Him. Your name is known to Him. And while Revelation 21:4 reminds us that the full wiping away of every tear is still coming, the risen Christ walks with you through every step until that day arrives.

Reflection: What does it mean to you personally that the risen Christ, in His first resurrection appearance, attended to a grieving individual before anything else?

Practical Application: Spend time in prayer today simply listening. After you have spoken your needs, sit quietly for a few minutes and allow the image of Christ calling Mary by name to rest in your heart. Ask Him to make His personal care for you feel real.
