Day 1: God Is Near to the Brokenhearted

Reading: Psalm 34:18

Devotional: The word translated "near" carries the weight of proximity, not observation from a distance. God does not watch your pain from afar and take notes. He moves toward you. Whatever you are carrying today, whether it is grief over a loss, a wound no one else can see, or a sorrow you have only been able to bring to God in a quiet moment, know this: His nearness is not conditional on your composure. You do not have to have it together before He draws close. He is already there, already present, already attending to the broken places within you.

Reflection: What are you carrying right now that you have only told God about? Take a moment to acknowledge His presence with you in that specific place.

Practical Application: Set aside ten minutes today to speak honestly to God about one thing you have been reluctant to bring to Him. Do not edit yourself. Let it be a real conversation.
