Day 5: Perseverance, Submission, and the Reward of Tested Faith
Reading: Romans 5:3-5, Psalm 100:1-5
Paul describes how suffering produces perseverance, which produces character, which produces hope. Psalm 100 calls believers to enter God's presence with thanksgiving, rooted in the knowledge that he is good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endures to every generation.
Devotional: The goal of testing is never destruction. The goal is always deeper formation. God is not watching your trials from a distance. He is present in them, refining what needs refining, strengthening what needs strengthening, and revealing what needs to be revealed. When the test is over, you will not simply be a person who survived. You will be a person who knows God more deeply because of what you walked through together. Enter his gates today with thanksgiving. Not because everything is resolved, but because he is good, his mercy has no expiration date, and his truth will outlast every trial you will ever face.
Personal Reflection: Looking back at a past trial you have come through, what did God develop in you through that season that you could not have received any other way?
Practical Application: Take time today to write out a testimony of one trial God brought you through and what it produced in your character and faith. Share it with at least one person this week as an act of encouragement.
