Day 3: Asking God the Hard Questions Is Not Unbelief

Reading: Judges 6:13, Psalm 22:1-5

Gideon asked God directly why Israel was suffering if God was truly with them. The psalmist cried out in a similar manner, questioning God's silence in a season of distress, yet both remained tethered to faith throughout their questioning.

Devotional: There is a difference between doubt that walks away from God and honest questioning that walks toward him. Gideon did not abandon his faith when he asked why. He brought his confusion directly to God, which is precisely where confusion belongs. God is not threatened by your questions. He is far more concerned with whether you bring them to him or carry them alone until they become bitterness. Mature faith does not pretend that everything makes sense. It chooses to remain in conversation with God even when the answers have not yet arrived. Bring him your why today.

Personal Reflection: Have you been carrying an unanswered question about God in silence? What would it look like to bring that question directly to him in prayer?

Practical Application: Write an honest, unfiltered prayer to God today. Do not edit it for politeness. Speak to him the way Gideon and the psalmist did, with full transparency and continued trust.
