Devotion: Day 5

Day 5: Stand Still and See

Reading: Exodus 14:10-31; 2 Corinthians 1:8-11

Devotional: Trapped between Pharaoh's army and the Red Sea, Israel faced impossible odds. Moses' command seems counterintuitive: "Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." The word yeshuah (salvation) shares the same root as Yeshua—Jesus. Moses was prophetically pointing toward the ultimate Deliverer. Divine deliverance often arrives in ways human imagination cannot predict. Israel expected swords; God split the sea. Paul testified: "He delivered us, He does deliver us, He will yet deliver us." Deliverance operates in three tenses—past victories remind us, present grace sustains us, future promises anchor us. Your Red Sea moment may feel overwhelming, but when God decides to deliver, no Pharaoh can stop it, no sea can block it. Stand still. Watch your Deliverer work.

Reflection Question: What impossible situation are you facing that requires you to "stand still" and trust God's deliverance?
