Devotion: Day 4

Day 4: The Name That Delivers

Reading: Exodus 3:13-15; Colossians 1:9-14

Devotional: "I AM THAT I AM"—Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh—means "I will be what I will be." God defines Himself as ongoing, adaptive presence. Whatever you need in this moment, He becomes that. Need provision? He is Jehovah Jireh. Need peace? He is Jehovah Shalom. Need healing? He is Jehovah Rapha. The name reveals flexibility within faithfulness. Paul declares that God "has delivered us from the power of darkness"—the Greek rhýomai means to rescue and relocate. Deliverance isn't just escape; it's transfer from one kingdom to another. You're not merely freed from chains; you're brought into light, into a new identity. The same God who revealed Himself to Moses reveals Himself to you, becoming exactly who you need Him to be today.

Reflection Question: What aspect of God's character do you most need to experience right now?
