Devotion: Day 4

DAY 4 — GOD CALLS US TO NEWNESS, NOT NOSTALGIA

Primary Text: Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things… I am doing a new thing.”

Deep Insight
The enemy often uses nostalgia as a spiritual trap.

Israel repeatedly longed for Egypt:
Exodus 16:3 — “We sat by pots of meat in Egypt.”
Numbers 11:5 — They remembered food but forgot slavery.
Memory can distort reality.

New Testament Renewal
2 Corinthians 5:17 — New creation in Christ.
Romans 12:2 — Be transformed by renewing the mind.
Colossians 3:2 — Set your mind on things above.

Illustration
A person renovating a house cannot keep decorating rooms that were already demolished.
God’s new work requires new focus.

Reflection
Are you celebrating what God is building, or grieving what He removed?

Prayer
“Lord, help me release nostalgia and embrace Your new work in my life.”
