DAY 3 — THE DANGER OF A HEART THAT LOOKS BACK
Primary Text: Genesis 19:26
“But Lot’s wife looked back… and she became a pillar of salt.”
Deep Insight
Hebrew for “looked back”:
נָבַט (nabat) = to gaze with regard, longing, or emotional attachment.
This wasn’t curiosity.
It was connection.
She left Sodom physically, but her heart remained there.
Jesus’ Warning
Luke 17:32 — “Remember Lot’s wife.”
Matthew 6:21 — Where your treasure is, your heart follows.
2 Peter 2:20-22 — Returning after escape leads to worse bondage.
Salt Symbolism
Salt often represents:
permanence (covenant salt)
preservation
judgment
She became a permanent testimony to divided devotion.
