Devotion: Day 5
Day 5: Anchored in Grace - Union with Christ
Reading: Colossians 3:12-14; Hebrews 10:25; Psalm 121:1-2
Devotional:
Abiding is the ongoing choice to return, remain, and rest in Christ. It's daily surrender of control and daily receiving of mercy. The abiding life cannot be lived on belief alone—it must be lived on union with God. From that union springs freedom that isn't fragile or fleeting, but rooted in the Savior's presence. Like deep roots that survive every season, abiding keeps us grounded when storms come. We're not called to perfection but to repentance, to walking by faith even when we miss the mark. As we enter a new year, let's rid ourselves of shame and draw closer to the fire of God's presence. Our help comes from the hills. Where one can cast a thousand, two can cast ten thousand. Together, abiding in His word, we walk in freedom.
Reflection: What three spiritual goals will you set for deeper abiding in 2026? What habits need to change for you to grow closer to God?
