Devotion: Day 2

Day 2: Rooted in Christ - The Vine and the Branches

Reading: John 15:4-5; Galatians 2:20

Devotional:

Jesus uses the imagery of vine and branches to illustrate our complete dependence on Him. Apart from Him, we can do nothing—not even wake ourselves in the morning. Abiding means allowing Christ's life to flow through us like sap through branches, producing fruit we could never manufacture ourselves. This isn't about performance or self-effort; it's about positioning ourselves to receive divine life. When we abide, our hearts pulse to the rhythm of Christ's heartbeat. Sin's grip loosens not through willpower alone, but through the steady flow of His presence. Freedom becomes a present transformation, not a distant dream. Today, recognize that you are a dwelling place of God, and treat yourself with the kindness that truth deserves.

Reflection: What "fruit" is your life currently producing? What needs to change for Christ's life to flow more freely through you?
