DAY 1 — THE WALL: BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU SIT

Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
Humpty Dumpty’s story did not begin with the fall. It began with the wall.
The wall represents elevation, success, position, comfort, achievement, and visibility. There is nothing wrong with being elevated. God can bless us with opportunities, influence, education, careers, ministry positions, businesses, relationships, and financial stability.
The danger comes when we begin to believe that the wall is holding us up rather than God.
Sometimes success can quietly convince us that we no longer need the same prayer life, discipline, humility, or dependence upon God that helped us get there. We begin to trust our position rather than the One who gave us the position.
That is why the question is not simply, “How high have I climbed?”
The better question is, “What am I standing on?”
Your title cannot sustain you.
Your money cannot sustain you.
Your education cannot sustain you.
Your connections cannot sustain you.
Your reputation cannot sustain you.
Only God can sustain you.
