Day 1: Devotion
he Word That Was and Always Will Be
Reading: John 1:1-5
The opening of John's Gospel declares that Jesus existed before creation, was present with God, and is God himself — the eternal Word through whom all life came into being.
Devotional:
Before the world was formed, before a single breath was drawn, Jesus was. He is not a figure who simply appeared in history and then faded. He pre-exists, co-exists, and self-exists. This truth is the foundation of everything we believe. When life feels uncertain or unstable, we can anchor ourselves in the One who was never created and can never be destroyed. The same Word that spoke the universe into existence speaks into your situation today. He is not distant. He is present, active, and sovereign. Begin each day this week by acknowledging that the God you serve has no beginning and no end.
Personal Reflection: In what areas of your life have you been treating Jesus as a last resort rather than the eternal foundation he truly is?
Practical Application: Before you check your phone or begin your morning routine today, spend five minutes in silence acknowledging the eternal presence of Jesus. Let that truth settle into your spirit before the noise of the day begins.
