Day 2: Humility Over Pride
Reading: James 4:6-10
Devotional: The sermon reminds us that "in humility, there is greatness." Our achievements, education, and possessions can become barriers to God's work in our lives if we're not careful. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. The Ninevites, from the greatest to the least, humbled themselves in sackcloth and fasting. They didn't argue their case or justify their behavior—they simply repented. True spiritual power flows through surrendered vessels, not self-sufficient ones. When we decrease, Christ increases. Your degrees, status, and accomplishments are tools for God's kingdom, but only when submitted to His lordship. Humility isn't thinking less of yourself; it's thinking of yourself less and thinking of Christ more.
